This trek is more challenging than other trekking in Nepal; however, with the right plan, preparation, and strong determination, it is not so difficult. If you trek with us, we’ll do our best to make your journey adventurous, safe, and enjoyable.

You can buy the water bottle, but we recommend you carry the reusable water bottle and refill it from the tea house or tap. To make water safe for drinking, always carry a water purification tablet.

The weather in this region is highly unpredictable, especially at Kongma La, Cho La, and Renjo La Passes. Although the trek is possible throughout the year, we highly recommend trekking in spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November) when conditions are more stable.

During this trek, you will be trekking above an altitude of 4000m, so there is a real chance of getting altitude sickness. Altitude sickness can happen to anyone while trekking, and trekkers should prepare for it to minimize the risk. Things to do to prevent altitude sickness. First, know about the altitude sickness symptoms During the trek, don't rush and walk slowly by taking breaks Keep hydrate yourself Do not intake any alcohol or tobacco Follow the acclimatization day and rest well Don't do heavy exercise during the trek.

The best time to visit is during the month of Spring and autumn seasons for the Everest Base Camp Trek. During these seasons, the weather conditions become favorable for trekkers. The clear sky provides excellent visibility, making the trek even more amazing than expected.

Increasing in the number of tourists every year recently the facilities in the tea house are also getting better. At lower altitudes, you can find attached bathrooms. At the high altitude area, you can find the shared bathroom, and for the hot shower, you need to pay extra bucks.

Yes, it's mandatory to have insurance before embarking on the Everest High Pass Trek. Make sure you have insurance that covers emergency helicopter evacuation and other important things like lost baggage, health issues, and flight cancellations.

Reaching the Everest Three passes top depending upon the mode of transportation that you use for the trek. For example, if you use a helicopter, you can complete it in a week. If you do regular trekking, then it can take about two weeks to complete.

The baggage allowance for Lukla flights is 15 kg (including both your duffel bag and daypack). If you exceed this limit, you may need to pay extra, but keeping your luggage light is always recommended.

Things To Know

Accommodation In The Everest High Passes Trek 

While staying in the city area, you will be staying in the standard Hotel. During the trek, you’ll stay in local lodges and tea houses, which offer cozy accommodation and basic amenities. The average teahouse has a twin bedroom with a shared bathroom. Also, you need to pay the extra bucks to use the facilities of the wifi and charging. We suggest you carry the amenities like toilet paper, hand wash, sanitizer, and a small towel so that it will be helpful.

Meals during the trek

While in Kathmandu, you’ll stay at a hotel that includes breakfast, whereas on the trek, you’ll be provided with three meals per day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

For breakfast: Bread, Eggs, Pancakes, Porridge, Muesli or cornflakes with hot milk, Rice Pudding, and Nepali bread are some famous breakfasts that you can find.

For lunch and dinner: Dal Bhat, Momos, Thukpa, Pasta and macaroni, Pizza and Sandwiches, and Spaghetti are some famous options for lunch and dinner.

Tea: black tea, milk tea, ginger tea, mint tea, herbal tea, butter tea etc

For coffee: milk and black coffee

For alcoholic beverages: You can find locally made pure organic beverages including some international imported beverages. We recommend not to drink while trekking in the high altitude.

Transportation

We will provide you with a private vehicle service for receiving and dropping at the airport. From Kathmandu to Lukla, you will have a domestic flight.

Physical fitness

This trek is challenging; therefore, this trek demands physical fitness with mental fitness. The right plan and preparation are required for this trek as it will help to ease the challenge. This trek does not require past mountain experience; however, if you have, it will be very helpful. 

During this trek, you will be walking for 6-7 hours, and each day, you will reach a new altitude. So, while walking at high altitude, there is a high chance of getting altitude sickness. It is one of the common problems that trekkers may face while trekking. Altitude sickness can happen to any trekker. Tekkers should be aware of its symptoms and preventive measures. We request you to maintain physical fitness and mental fitness 3-4 months before you arrive in Nepal.
